Change Your Benefits
Benefit changes include new enrollments, removal, or addition of an eligible spouse and/or dependent child. Changes can only be made to your benefits during Open Enrollment, typically held in the fall with a January 1st effective date, or within 30 days* of a Qualifying Life Event (*could be up to 90 days for birth or adoption events).
You may newly enroll dependents in benefits due to the following events:
- Marriage
- Birth
- Adoption
- Legal Guardianship of Dependent Child(ren)
- Court Order to Add Dependent Child(ren)
- Loss of Other Coverage for Employee and/or Dependents
You may remove dependents from benefits due to the following events:
- Divorce/Legal Separation to Remove Spouse and/or Step-Child(ren)
- Access to Other Coverage for Employee and/or Dependents
- Death Event for Employee's Spouse or Child
- Court Order/Legal Guardianship has expired
